Feature and Follow #60

Alison Can Read Feature & Follow

This is a weekly blog hop hosted by the wonderful Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. Today's question is:

Q: Share something you’ve learned about book blogging or just blogging in general in the last month.

Good one, as always. I would say that I've learned consistency matters but you can take a day or two away (as is the case with any sort of blogging). And also, that you should interact with other bloggers, just go around and check out what they're doing on their blogs and leave comments and such. It really gets you more acquainted with the book community and if you're new to it then seeing what others do can be somewhat of a learning process to get yours going. Just stay clear of the drama though, and focus on what you want. Being interactive also gets others coming to your blog and I don't know about you but when different people from around the world stop by my blog and leave messages it gives me the drive to keep blogging.

That's my take on it. How about you?

  1. Oh staying clear of any drama sure is important. So far (*touches wood!*) I haven't had any, and I'm very happy about that.

Thanks for stopping by my FF post earlier, Shane. Have a fantastic Friday!

  2. I have to agree with your comment and Lexxie's.

The blogoshpere is a wonderful place and without a community it is rather boring. I try to go to other blogs and not only check them out but leave comments.. I know I totally go gaga over comments, that other people must as well.

Thanks for stopping by Tea and leaving a comment.

  3. I totally agree! The friends I've made while blogging was an unexpected but incredibly appreciated perk. I feel like I learn so much and become inspired reading other blogger's sites. Plus, it keeps me up to date on the market and new releases. Wonderful post!

  4. Interaction is key. I figure, what's the point of having a social blog without being social??

  7. I agree that staying away from drama is extremely important. It's a waste of time, is unprofessional, ruins your reputation, and usually doesn't resolve anything.

  13. I agree, great answer. It's fun sharing thoughts on books but without anyone to talk to about them, whats the point?

  15. Shane, that's a fantastic answer. Sort of what I said on my F&F too, that you need to network with other bloggers and the comments keep you going. Knowing that you can take a few days off is important too!

  16. I agree that commenting on other people's blogs is important - I wish I had started commenting when I was reading blogs before I had my own blog, I didn't get it until I had my own. But it's so great to interact with other bloggers!

Thanks for stopping by my FF. Old follower :-)

  22. You're right. Having someone follow you is great but getting to know them through posts and comments is even cooler. I'm following quite a few people who are YA and NA bloggers. They aren't my favourite genre but I like the way they review books and it gives me an insight into a different book world.

  23. Always interact! If you don't how will people get to know you or meet you??? Good answer!

  25. DRAMA!

When I first started blogging I thought this community was chill. I was so surprised when I started reading about blogger wars, author v. reader, plagiarism etc. I just had to steer clear of those and laugh it off.

  26. Hello, Shane! I love your post. Very spot on! As for going absent for a day or two, I have to agree. We still have lives outside of blogging and getting too absorbed with this world might lead to blogging burn out. On an average, I only post 4-5 times a week. <3

And staying away from the drama, so true! <3

Old follower here! Thanks for dropping by my FF!

  27. Good point about the drama ... not exactly sure why more of that seems to be happening these days!

new follower on Bloglovin! have a great week ahead!

  28. It's hard to "always" stay out of the drama, but it seems like drama follows around some bloggers like a dog on a leash. Although those bloggers might like the short term attention, the rest of us just don't want anything to do with them because of it.

And commenting is important! <-- thanks for visiting my FF!

  29. I agree.... stay clear of the drama!! For sure!
