Facts about Indelible

By Bethany Lopez

1. I wanted to write a character that could be relatable to women, not a perfect woman, but one who has flaws, self-doubt, and strength. I hope I was able to do that with Sam.

2. I used a photographer, Kelsey Kukal-Keeton, and was able to look through her portfolio of models. I wanted the model on the cover to be a size twelve, like Sam is, and was thrilled with the final product.

3. I wanted to portray the joys and difficulties of having a toddler. I think Karrie was the most fun character I’ve ever written. I’ve been through many of the situations I wrote about, and when you’re going through it, it’s a nightmare, but looking back the situations are hilarious!

4. For Friends & Lovers my musical inspirations were Country, but with Indelible, I was able to get back in to the rock music that I love. I listened to a lot of Staind, 30 Seconds to Mars, and The Killers, while writing.

5. I LOVED writing Judd. Something about writing the guys POV really speaks to me. I think I understand men better than women sometimes, and writing him was really fun.
