About the Authors
Kelley Lynn was born and raised a Midwestern girl. She’s not afraid to sweat and fills her free time with softball, soccer and volleyball. (Though you probably don’t want her on your volleyball team.) She occasionally makes guest appearances as a female vocalist for area bands. Music plays a large role in her writing process as well as the characters and plot lines within her stories.

Let me start out by saying that I'm not bias because I'm hosting the blog tour for Road to Somewhere. Okay, now that we have that out of the way, I think it's okay to say that I enjoyed the story. I saw so much of myself in both girls in regards to various traits and they had me hooked from the opening chapter.
Honestly, this was a quick-paced book, but I took my time reading it because I didn't want it to end. The story was that interesting. I loved every detail and how descriptive their surroundings were. Not to mention I could envision appearances, feel emotions, and taste the food. It was as if the pages were alive to me.
I could relate to Lucy being shy and fearful of expressing herself. She held back a lot for most of her life and envied her older sister for being outspoken. On the other hand, Charlie wasn't as brave as we first suspected her to be. She had a lot dealing with, both emotional and in her relationship with her sister and parents. At first I thought the book would mostly be about two sisters on the road, but I liked that it was more about them really finding themselves, experiencing a deeper connection with the other, and dabbling in some sweet romance along the way. Luke and Drew were a ton of cowboy hotness. Their dialogues made me shudder throughout the book.
I don't want to ramble on about every single character and every element of the story, like how much of a negativity their father was, and how him and their mother should do a better job as parents; how super cool nan and pops were, and how I liked when Charlie's bestie put her in check and made her open her eyes about an a-hole of a dude, but I won't mention anymore and spoil it for you. All I want to say now is that overall, I was pleased with the story and the way things worked out for the sisters.
Oh, one more thing that appealed to me was the alternating POVs and how wonderfully it was delivered. I haven't read a lot of young adult books involving siblings so this was a great start. It's well-written, entertaining, emotional, and suitable for fans of young adult contemporary looking for something substantial to indulge themselves in. Awesome job, Kelley and Jenny. Thanks for warming me up in this frigid New England weather.
