~My Review~

First off let me just say that if you haven't read book one then you'll be lost for the most part. So, kindly do that before going on.

Simmer opens with Kira getting ready to go to this camp in order to better understand herself and where she comes from. Kira recaps what happened in book one so the details are kept fresh in our minds, just in case its slipped us.

The story continues from where Ignite left it: Luke and Tristan are still very much at odds, her friends are still around, and Kira still hasn't captivated my heart enough. Thankfully, her character portrays growth in the second book and I get to experience a different side to her. 

While she's moving forward, I felt as if other characters were stagnant. Luke still gave off a playful attitude, which is good, but I kinda got tired of his and Tristan's behavior toward each other. I mean, their hatred was getting boring cause it felt repeated. It was amusing, nonetheless, but still a bit redundant. Aside from that, I'm very much team Tristan.

His love for Kira is just as strong as it was from start. His protective nature intensifies in the sequel and I'm happy his character hasn't changed his appeal. 

I almost thought Kira was going to start falling head over heels for Luke but thankfully it was just a phase and her devotion to Tristan is beyond endless.

The romance aspect of this book was very entertaining, but of course the premise wasn't focused only on that. There were still dangers lurking around the main character's life. 

Diana was still causing trouble for her and I'm contented with how the author left her by the end of the book.

Overall, Simmer was interesting. The pace has certainly picked up since Ignite, which was more of an introduction to the characters and what the story was all about. My only issue was sometimes there was too much mentioning all at once, and of course my Luke and Tristan issue. Otherwise, I enjoyed it.
