Feature and Follow #66

Alison Can Read Feature & Follow

This is a weekly blog hop hosted by the wonderful Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. This week's featured blogger is:

Q: What book (or TV show or movie) have you not read that seemingly everyone else has?

Easy. I haven't read Divergent, Insurgent, and probably won't read Allegiant obviously because I have to start from the beginning. It's quite a popular trilogy but I guess I just haven't been appealed enough to read it, and I don't necessarily read books based on hype. But anyway, maybe one day I'll pick up the first book or maybe not. It all depends on my mood.

Divergent (Divergent, #1)Insurgent (Divergent, #2)

How about you?

  1. Hopping through. I loved Divergent although I was late to the game on it.

  4. I haven't managed to read this series either. I actually borrowed them from the library a short while ago, but by the time I got around to reading them they were due back and I wasn't allowed to re-borrow.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
    Happy Friday :)

  5. Thank you for stopping by! I'm thinking of Divergent too, but since I can't get a copy right now (I'm on a budget, waiting for House of Hades), it's just on my "maybe someday..." list :)

  6. I'm the same. I don't read a book simply because it's popular. Although I might look into it if I keep hearing how awesome it is to see if it's something I might like. Which is what led me to start the Divergent trilogy! It sounded interesting enough and I was hooked.

But books like the Hunger Games are ones I won't ever read because that one in particular didn't really appeal to me, so I won't read it even though so many bloggers have and said how awesome it was.

    Here's my Follow Friday

    Have a GREAT weekend!

    1. Yea, Hunger Games definitely hasn't gotten to me. I just don't care for the whole concept of those types of books. They seem the same to me. But that's me :)

      Thanks for coming over, Jess.

  7. Divergent is probably one of the first YA books I've read. It's really great. You should check it out one day. Thanks for stopping by my hop. *Old Follower*

  8. Yep, Divergent was my choice too. I will read the series, but I figured as long as I've waited this long that I might as well wait for the last book to come out before I read them! Thanks for stopping by my FFF!

    1. I agree. Then we can get all three together and read them back to back. But then again, not sure when i'll do that :)

  9. I read Divergent and didn't think it was worth all the hype. Good story but I have other books I loved so much more.

    1. Oh oh, that's what i'm afraid of. I often read books that have been so hyped up but then ended up not really loving them as much as everyone. It's so common in these cases and i feel like that dystopian concept is just too common to a point where they're all alike.

  10. I haven't read Divergent yet either. Glad I'm not the only one. Happy Friday!

  11. Same here. I'll read it eventually. I don't know when but not now. The hype and all my friends keep talking about how good it is and what's wrong with me that I've not read it yet ---> *sigh* too much pressure and it actually makes me nervous (what if I don't like it, what if I don't feel the same as everyone else). So yeah I figure I'll read it when the hypes die down.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Friday =)

  15. I'm actually surprised at how many people are saying Divergent this week. I have the first two books sitting on my shelf but I haven't read them yet.

  16. It's a great read. I read it because I wasn't a fan of Hunger Games (maybe I should have used those LOL). Happy Friday!

  18. Being in the right mood is important. I really enjoyed Divergent and Insurgent, and Allegiant is one of the books I look the most forward to this fall!

Thanks for stopping by earlier. Have a great weekend, Shane.

  21. But they're so good! Lol. I guess, though, if you're not a fan of the genre the story might not sound appealing. I, personally, love the Dystopian genre! So, I loved these books. :)
