Synopsis via Goodreads:
High school senior Liv Evans has one rule: No attachments. She’s lost enough in her life and has vowed to do whatever it takes to make sure she never again feels the emptiness of losing someone she loves. Boys are a fun distraction, but a serious relationship is something she’d rather live without. Her determination for a future free of pain and heartbreak is put to the test when she meets–and quickly forms an unexpected bond–with Logan Tanner.

Logan has always been a free spirit, but ever since a life-changing event took place, which left him doubting the integrity of those who are closest to him, he’s taken that term to a whole new dangerous level. Learning the hard way that life is too short for worries or work–and that women can’t be trusted–Logan has exchanged steady work for street racing. When Liv walks into his world, everything he thought he knew about life and women is challenged.

In The Fine Line, Liv and Logan will discover if it’s possible for true love to have a future, or if history is destined to repeat itself.

The Inspiration Behind The Fine Line

A year ago, I was content. You might even say I was happy. I worked hard at a rewarding job, had a loving husband, and had children who put a smile on my face every day. I lived in a modest home, in a modest neighborhood and got along decently enough with my neighbors. You might even say I had it all. The American dream.

Then one day, a question with flashing, sparkly lights popped into my mind and stayed with me constantly for several weeks, begging to be seen. Maybe even months.

“What’s next?”

After pushing it aside for a while—because there didn’t need to be a next…I was content—I finally listened to the question and thought: Am I doing everything I want to do in this life? Am I happy with being…comfortable?

As it turns out, there was something missing. A void that yearned to be filled. I was happy, but I wasn’t doing all I was meant to do. With a conscious effort, I began actively searching for the ‘thing’ I needed, and after a few exciting experiences that I never thought I would have, I finally found an unyielding motivation for writing.

I am not a natural born writer. Much of my time in the beginning was spent with my motionless fingers on the keyboard, staring blankly at the screen. Usually, music pulled me out of those funks. But mostly, thinking about my own personal experiences, and how I felt during them, guided me away from writer’s block and inspired the fictional story that was itching to be told. Before long, Liv and Logan’s lives consumed my thoughts and I couldn’t wait to sit down to write more.

I had a ceaseless drive to write this novel, and after hours, days, and months of not only writing, but also researching how to write effectively, I finally completed my goal. Finishing The Fine Line was one of the most rewarding accomplishments I have ever had.
