Feature and Follow #55

This is a weekly blog hop hosted by the wonderful Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. Today's question is:

Q: Today’s is the US’ Independence Day. Share your favorite book with a war in it, or an overthrow of the government.

Good question, as always. My favorite book with a war concept is Lord of the Rings series. It may not have anything to do actual war but there is the aspect of good versus evil battle.   Other than that I can't think of any other books with war that I liked.

Hope you enjoyed the 4th :)

How about you, what's your favorite?

  1. My 11 year old son has been asking me to buy him the Lord of the Rings books. He loves the movies and is absolutely obsessed with The Hobbit, watches it at least 3 times a week. Great choice! My pick is George RR Martin's Game of Thrones.

  10. Oooh, LotR is a good choice! I guess I have read more books that feature "wars" in them then I thought I had because I really had to think about this question. Possibly because I was caught up in actual wars, which I couldn't remember reading about, only now I keep coming up with books like Gone With the Wind and North and South... lol.

  32. I haven't read the series, but I've seen the movies, and loved them! I can only imagine that the books are epic, considering the fact that books are always better than the movies! Great Pick! Thanks for sharing Shane!

  33. I would have to say The Outlander series. There's the Rising of '45 and then later the American Revolution.
I've never read LoTR but I think I should rad it before I die :)
