Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spines. This is a cool way to spotlight a upcoming release that you're anxious about, as well as checking out what other book lovers are anticipating as well. This is my first WoW of June because I've been slacking off, but anyways, here's what I'm waiting for:
Publisher: Margaret K. McElderry
Synopsis via Goodreads:
In a world where dukes plot their way to the throne, a Performer’s life can get tricky.
All Johanna Von Arlo wants to do is become a Storyspinner. But her options are so limited that she is forced to work for the aggravating and handsome Lord Rafael DeSilva. While in his employ, Johanna is exposed to a dangerous game of thrones, a game where she will discover that the magically inclined Keepers from her stories might be real after all.
The Keepers are searching for an heir to a great power and the key to saving their land. They aren’t alone in their hunt. Girls matching the heir’s description are turning up dead all over the kingdom. Girls who look exactly like Johanna.
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Synopsis via Goodreads:
The lives of four teens intersect and overlap several weeks before a meteor is set to pass through Earth’s orbit – with a 66.6% chance of striking and destroying all life on the planet.
Why I'm Waiting
I'm a fan of historical settings so The Storyspinner really intrigues me. I like the sound of the character and love how tough she looks on the cover. As for We All Looked Up, I like the premise of a meteor coming and I want to see and feel how these teens will cope with what might be their final days on earth. Love how realistic the cover is too. Both books seem really interesting.
What are you waiting for?

DeleteI love Historical settings too, though the cover is making me feel sick, haha. Trippy cover. I've only seen We All Looked Up once, so didn't know it was an end of the world type book. Sounds great though! :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the cover. At first I thought it was a temporary one but I guess it's the actual cover. It does seem kind of off, hopefully the story makes up for it.
DeleteThanks for stopping by as well :)
ReplyDeleteThe Storyspinner was added to Edelweiss today! Go get it! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm still not completely sold on it, but if early reviews are mostly positive, then I might have to reconsider. Thanks for sharing and for stopping by! :)
