Five gifted teenagers are selected out of hundreds of other candidates to fly to France and help with the excavation of a vast, underground palace buried a hundred feet below the suburbs of Paris. Stefan Bachmann was born in Colorado and now lives in Switzerland, where he studies modern music at the Zürich University of Arts. He is the author of several books, including The Peculiar, his debut, which was published to international acclaim when he was nineteen years old. It was a New York Times Editor's Choice and a Publishers Weekly Best Book of 2012, and was translated into eight languages.

    I'm so glad to see this post. I met Stefan at a reading almost two years ago and he said he was writing a YA novel. This is the first I've seen of it. I love his writing and I will buy this for sure!

    This really sounds interesting, i really like the fact that the blurb isn't spoiling too much of the book, however giving us all of the intrigue. This is definitely being added to my Want to Read list! Great pick :)
