An Unresisting Tease #3

Unresisting (The Unresisting #1)
by
Sixteen year old Natasha Johnson is having a rough year. Her twin brother, Sean, died last summer in a car crash. Her parents are on the verge of divorce, and her mother decided to pack up and leave the only home she knew. It's a lot to take in, and Nat has decidedly given up on the world, until moving to Stetson Valley and meeting high school ‘outcast’, Chace Owens.

We were driving in silence. And I wanted so badly to tell him how I felt. I opened my mouth to start “Chace, I…ahhhh.” Something ran into us. The car screeched and spun in circles. Chace tried to get control of his mustang but it was no use. We flipped over. Luckily we were both wearing our seatbelts. Safety first! Dad would be proud. Was it really the seatbelts that saved us, or the fact we’re both not normal?
My head was spinning, and I could hear Chace trying to free himself to get us out.
“Nat, are you okay? There’s something...” A loud noise came from outside. Whatever it was is pounding on the bottom, which was now the top being that we were upside down. It was banging the car so hard.
Chace pried himself from the seat and got me loose. We managed to get out through the passenger window. Just as we did, something flung the car over to the other side of the road. Our mouths were opened wide; it was now standing before us.
The thing growled, foam dripping from the sides of its mouth. It was gigantic. Its eyes were blood red, and it had scales all over its arms. A beast you couldn’t even describe as being straight out of a story book, for such a thing had never been portrayed before.
“What tha hell is that?” I almost pissed myself.
Chace grabbed my hand. “Run!”
We hurried into the woods. The thing was coming behind us. Not letting up even if it crashed into the trees and hurt itself. It just kept coming.
We ran so deep into the woods that even the sunlight was blocked out. I started panting, my legs gave way and I fell to the ground. Chace still held on to me, trying to pull me to my feet.
“C’mon, Nat. It’s getting closer. Get up!” He shouted at me. I couldn’t move. My legs were cramping badly. I pushed him to leave me but that was out of the question.
“I’m not leaving you, now come on.” He pulled me and we hid behind a tree as it got closer. But I knew it was only a matter of time before the beast found us, my heart was beating so loud even a deaf person could hear it.
I covered my mouth and we stood still. The beast stopped running. It began searching the area, quietly. Bending slightly and sniffing the ground. Great! It’s like a dog, its definitely going to find us now.
The thing came close behind the tree where we hid. Chace held on to me tightly. I have to do something. I won’t let anything happen to him. Then everything went silent and the thing pushed its head around and growled at us, almost clawing us with its paws.
Chace threw me to the ground and flung himself over me. The beast raised a hand to stomp on him and I screamed “No!”
Flames shot out of me towards it. The thing’s hand caught on fire and it moved away fast, growling horridly trying to put out the fire. I eased myself from Chace and walked towards the beast. He grabbed me.
“Nat, what’re doing we have to go before it manages to put out the flames.” I brushed him off and continued approaching the thing.
My insides were filling with unbelievable power. It gave me such a rush. I loved it. I wished for more flames to appear and my body lit up. This time it was blazing more, much more than ever.
The beast spun around and growled madly at my presence. It came at me and I sent huge balls of fire until its entire body was engulfed in flames. It roared in agony and fell to the ground, creating tremors. Then seconds’ later burnt flesh showered us after it exploded.
When I finally cooled down my body was soaked in sweat. I felt exhausted. Chace was amazed by what I’d done, but before I could move to where he was standing I got dizzy and collapsed to the ground.
I fell into darkness.

  2. I like it a lot!! Couple things, I saw a few typos like with "what tha hell" -- not sure if you meant it like that or something. Also when Tasha is fighting the beast, where does the fire come from? Hands, arms, from her soul? And wouldn't mustang be capitalized? Anyways, besides those things, I love it!!! I can't WAIT 'till it's finished!!!!!!!
