~My Review~

Heartracing romance, irresistible dark sides, and conflicting emotions. Rae's electrically charged Gothic tale returns with more intensity than ever. Are you ready for the fireworks?

Well, it seems Ms. Hachton listened to my cries for more Marcus since Black Satin because she has certainly answered. And allow me to give you a concise depiction of my feelings on the third installment in the series after getting over my silly gratification. Of course Raven in the Grave wasn't written to satisfy me, it was formulated to please the devoted fan base of Marcus Marble. At least, that's how I felt throughout the story.

In Black Satin, Marcus was absent far too long but with the empty space he left Rae gave way to other interesting characters like Walter, and readers plunged into a history lesson with Ellie discovering the truth about herself and her family. Well, in contrast to the previous book Marcus has reemerged as the sexy scene stealer he's been from start. In Raven in the Grave we're granted the chance to not only get more of his hot appeal but learn more about his past and see a different, softer side to Marcus. His love for Ellie is deeper than ever; both unraveling new things about the other and intensifying their feelings. And while I loved reading the story from Marcus' point of view, It was interesting getting inside the head of Walter as well, seeing how torn his feelings were for a particular wench. Two men, different yet similar in so many ways, especially when it came to their feelings for Ellie and their past with Jillian.

This is almost like a milestone in the story. Decisions have to be made, battles must be fought, and more importantly the truth will be unfolded. I guess you can say the third book is a bit about retribution but more so about overcoming trials. The relationship of the main characters continue to face trouble and in such times love will be tested.

Once again, I enjoyed the adventure taking place. The writing is wonderful; persuasive is hardly the word, more like extraordinary. The story's just immensely well constructed. Rae has never ceased to amaze me. And I'm itching greatly for the fourth and final chapter to a Gothic romance I so dread an ending for.
