Alison Can Read Feature & Follow

This is a weekly blog hop hosted by the wonderful Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. This week's featured blogger is:

Q: What were some of your favorite picture books as a kid?

Oh wow, this is a hard one because I can't really remember some of them. But I did like the Three Bears (Goldilocks), along with the three little pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Peter Rabbit.

How about you?

  14. I loved fairy tales! I used to have this really big and worn-out book that had a lot of the Hans Christian Anderson tales collected in one volume. I don't know whatever happened to it...

  25. I've been reading about banned picture books this week, in preparation for a banned books event we're having on Tuesday in the Children's Library I work at... and I learned that "Little Red Riding Hood" is often banned. People get angry that in some versions, she brings a bottle of wine to her sick grandma in the basket. They think it condones the use of alcohol. More modern versions are usually censored & changed, and now she brings "cakes" and "a pat of butter." Poor grandma, being deprived like that all for the sake of appearing PC. ;)

Here's my FF, if you feel like checking it out!:
