~My Review~

ReVamped is a sort of dystopian novel where vampires and humans coexist peacefully, somewhat, where the aforementioned has their own government, partake in societal things, and protect the humans as well. 

The romance aspect was convincing. And I liked all the spins on the history of vampires and how different it was from what we're used to seeing in movies. For example, garlic enables them to walk in sunlight instead of burning their throats so that was interesting. But in terms of the action and storyline, it was a bit dragged out and detail oriented. 

The training or revamping of the less than badass vampires in Angel Creek was cool at first but then I realized the training was taking way too long. I get that they were a bit rough around the edges but they shouldn't be that bad in book years. Also, Dawn's long description were too much while I was waiting for an answer from either her or the person she's having a dialect with. At times, something would be said, and a response comes way after. That was a bit off for me. 

I'm not bashing Ada's novel in anyways, just pointing out some things that didn't work for me. However, aside from the romance there were other things that kept the book alive and exciting. A little sense of humor in any story is always a plus and I liked vampire Brooke's character and how she lightened the intensity at times. Hannah was always a great addition and I felt her purpose even more as the girl who gets kidnapped. 

The way werewolves were depicted had me cracking up. What a change for the creatures who're known for their aggressive nature. In ReVamped, werewolves are all about peace and love. Even their transformation was quite...different, unique so to speak. That was a brilliant twist. 

Am I missing anything? Yes, the writing style. How could I forget. Despite my previous take on the details, the writing pace was quick; the story was short and tasty. I finished the book in two sitting. That's cause I was super busy. But regardless, I was kept interested and wanted to find out what was coming next. 

In conclusion, I liked the book and the ending was absolutely awesome. This us a safe start in a cool series and I'm eager to read the ReAwakened. By the way, don't you just love the covers in the series. Beyond breathtaking!
